The styles are beautiful [in L.A.]. People have their own trends and their own authentic swagger, but it’s not what I gravitate toward. Maybe if I was born and raised there, I would have warmed to it. I admire it, but I’m detached from it. I’m very visual. When I’m in New York, I walk down the street and find myself complimenting everybody. I like when people put things together because they felt like it, not because they wanted to impress someone. You can always tell when someone is dressing for other people, but I just love when people dress for themselves.
